The Ebenezer School Jockey Club Music Odyssey Assistive Music Technology Composition course is going to start in October 2023. There will be a professional tutor teaching song structures, melody composition, chord progressions and different types of music genres for appreciation. Before the course ends, students would have the opportunity to apply what they have learnt in the course and compose their own songs under the guidance of the tutor.
This course spans 20 sessions on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm online Zoom class. The course is free of charge (only an HK$800 deposit is required, which will be refunded upon meeting 90% attendance requirements). Limited quota. Instructor Introduction: Austin Leung, Music Composer
Austin Leung is a Hong Kong composer who graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Diploma and holds a Master's degree in Music from the Royal Academy of Music in London. Currently, he has graduated at the University of Hong Kong for his Ph.D Composition. Leung is known for blending contrasting musical materials into the same piece. His musical materials spans from tonal and expressive melodies, to dark contemporary ambient noise.
