Programme content
Mr. Gao Zhipeng, an experienced visually impaired music teacher in mainland, shared with us his music pedagogy and strategies used in his 30-years teaching life to inspire students and develop their strength. Over the years, he has nurtured countless visually impaired musicians, passing on his persistence, hope and understanding of music. Mr. Gao will also perform his award-winning composition work in the sharing.
Speakers
Gao Zhipeng (Speaker)
Gao Zhipeng is currently the music teacher of Shanxi Taiyuan Mangtong School with more than 30 years of teaching experience in music. He has genuine interest in composition, writing lyrics, singing as well as playing various instruments. After his study in the Conservatory of Shanxi University since 1997, he then went to Germany to continue his studies. In 2002, he was enrolled in the Department of Education of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts. He founded the Taiyuan Longcheng Disabled People’s Cultural Group in 2008 and the Shanxi Province Disabled People’s Cultural Promotion Association in 2012 to help people with disabilities to realise their full potential.
Principal Wong Tin Ling (Moderator)
Wong Tin Ling is the Principal of Ebenezer New Hope School with around 30 years of experience in special education. Wong is committed to promote the music development of the visually impaired through facilitating basic music education for young visually impaired children and training of elite musicians.
