EBENEZER JOCKEY CLUB MUSIC ODYSSEY
Funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Charities Trust, Ebenezer Jockey Club Music Odyssey was launched by Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired in 2021. The project is committed to expanding the music horizons of visually impaired students and graduates aged 0-21 from Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired and its partnering schools under the Resource Support Programme.
The project offers various music programmes, from elementary instrumental training to creative music sensitivity classes, to train students’ senses and learn the diversity of music. Students’ progress will be showcased via public concerts. Music pedagogy training will also be provided to the music teachers to expand their professional capacity to serve the needs. The project emphasises the production of braille music scores of different difficulty levels, so as to develop an online braille music score database for the visually impaired in the long run. Looking to the future, the project will hold more public performances to promote social inclusion for pursuing a life of hope.
